On 21st November, an article on the impact of sustainable strategies on the Board of Directors appeared in Il Sole 24 Ore Plus. This article shows how sustainability issues, also known as Esg (environmental, social and governance) are becoming increasingly important to the life of a company. In fact, they can redirect business decisions. At the same time, however, it is stressed that sustainability is considered primarily for issues that have a direct impact on business rather than in a perspective of long-term sustainable development of the economy and the country. The hope is therefore that the Board of Directors will not only have formal responsibilities but will be more involved in the entire process of designing the strategy, which, to date, seems to be the exclusive prerogative of the managers.
