The Fashion Industry Charter for Climate ActionIn 2018 the most fashion actors worked together, under the leadership of the United Nations, to identify ways to address the climate issue concretely. Thus, The Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action was launched. Its goal is to eliminate the emissions by 2050 and define various questions as the selection of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, better customer awareness, the exploitation of circular business models …. that will be dealt with the signatories. This document attributes an important responsibility to the fashion industry with regard to climate impact. But at the same time, it recognises the great potential of the fashion industry to reduce emissions through a model of sustainable development.
Although the ultimate goal is in 2050, the signatories have set another goal in 2030: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30%.
