measuring circularity
CYCLE 4sustainability® was developed to increase the level of circularity of companies, understood as the set of circular economy initiatives actually implemented. Activities include an initial assessment of input flows (materials and resources) and output flows (products, scraps, waste), as well as the evaluation of best practices related to sustainable design, logistics, supplier management and packaging. All activities contribute to the construction of a circularity index.
circular economy in fashion: rethinking the business model
Growing attention to environmental sustainability of production processes and products, globalised markets and consumers’ desire to make responsible purchasing choices are pushing fashion companies to take concrete action and rethink how business is conducted. The key concept in establishing a circular economy model in fashion is “cutting” — moving away from the take–make–waste logic of linear economy towards production and consumption models that extend product life cycles and significantly reduce waste generation.
