compliance to protect reputation

In a context of increasing scrutiny of brand and supply chain
reputation, 4sustainability® has integrated a dedicated dimension for compliance data collection and verification. This enables brands to rely on verified supply chains and to limit their own audits to additional brand-specific requirements. The data collection, documentation and on-site verification methodology harmonises key regulatory requirements relevant to the market, supporting the assessment of fundamental ESG risks from an environmental, social and governance perspective.
The ETHIC pillar allows companies to:

• verify compliance with national and international regulations (e.g. REACH, EU Regulation 2019/1020, Legislative Decree 81/2008, ILO Conventions, etc.);
• assess environmental compliance of production sites and processes (wastewater, emissions, waste);
• verify working conditions and protection of human rights (child labour, working hours, wages);
• assess occupational health and safety measures at production sites;
• receive operational recommendations for regulatory alignment and reduction of legal and reputational risks.

verification approach

Verification of requirements is primarily conducted on-site to accurately assess the level of compliance.
Desktop audits are permitted only for the documentation review phase; however, the accuracy and consistency of documentation must always be verified on-site.

the Ethic Report

At the end of the verification process, a Compliance Verification Report is issued, highlighting any identified Non-Conformities.
On-site audits are conducted by accredited bodies, such as Bureau Veritas Italia.
